3 Natural Beauty Trends You Need To Know About

When it comes to beauty, less is definitely more. Less ingredients, less chemicals, less makeup, and less effort, so you can have a chance to shine. At GMB, we’re all for going down the natural route. These are the beauty trends we’ve tried, tested and loved lately – now it’s your turn!

1. Cold-pressed Soaps

Do you find your soap dries your skin out, rather than moisturising it? Or are you dealing with itchiness, dryness or eczema? If so, it’s time to ditch your standard soap for a cold-pressed soap. To make cold-pressed soaps, flower and plant oils are gently warmed to their natural melting points, and then slowly mixed with an alkaline solution. As the mixture thickens and cools, other beneficial ingredients, such as essential oils, are added before the soap is left to set for 4-6 weeks. The result? An all-natural, deliciously creamy soap that’s packed with antioxidants and vitamins to leave skin healthy and soft. It’s a gamechanger. We love Live Organic Australia's range of Cold-Pressed Soaps. They’re 100% natural and vegan, with none of those chemicals and fragrances that many traditional soaps contain (which can irritate skin). Live Organic Australia only uses organic, biodegradable ingredients that have been sourced sustainably, so they get a huge tick of approval from us. Their soaps are easy to travel with, plus they smell divine! As if that wasn’t enough, each soap serves a purpose. Need to calm down? Lather up with lavender. Got a little sunburned? Soothe your skin with aloe vera. Sorted.

2. Superfood Skincare

First there was farm-to-table, and now there’s farm-to-face. In the past few years, consumers have begun to look at their health and wellbeing in a holistic way. They’re becoming more aware and discerning about what they put in and on their bodies, and it’s led to a beauty boom: superfood skincare. Many natural foods are packed with vitamins, minerals and other properties (like antioxidants) that nourish, protect, repair and strengthen skin, so it makes sense to slap them on your face. If you’re on board with the au naturel movement, keep an eye out for products containing the likes of flax oil, chia seed oil, blueberries, carrots, Kakadu plum, kale, coconut and chlorophyll. Natural is in, nasties are out – and it makes us so happy!

3. Beautiful brews

Beauty starts from the inside – but you already know that. And if 2015 was the year of the green juice, 2016 is all about beauty teas. By working hard to detoxify, hydrate and stimulate your body from within, the results of these antioxidant-rich, low-sugar teas show on the outside. The beauty tea market has exploded lately, with tons of specialist brews on offer. Whether you want to cleanse the ol’ digestive tract, nix inflammation, get that glow, or calm your racing mind, there’s a tea that can help with that. The best thing about this trend is that it forces you to find some zen, even if it’s just for five minutes a day. So, grab a cuppa and try sipping your way to less stress and better skin!
