Buckwheat is the main grain source in theseEat To Live Buckwheat Cake Plant Omegas cakes. Buckwheat is high in fibre, manganese and selenium as well as B vitamins and iron. These also have the additional ingredients of chia seeds, flaxseeds and hemps seeds which brings delicious and essential omegas and fatty acids into your diet as well as some protein. Rice cakes are a staple in so many houses, but what about buckwheat cakes?! A brilliant way to get the benefits of this nutritious pseudo-grain, buckwheat is a complex carbohydrate with a good dose of protein and dietary fibre. It also contains a number of important minerals, such as manganese, copper, magnesium, iron and phosphorus. It doesn't stop there, buckwheat is rich in antioxidants, containing more than many other popular cereal grains. Along with the buckwheat in these buckwheat cakes, we have some added chia, flax and hemp. These three powerhouse seeds are a great source of plant based omega-3. Not only are they easy and versatile to use. But they are incredibly cheap and the Eat To Live brand also include all those extra vitamins and minerals from the buckwheat and chia, flax and hemp seeds. Made with just 5 simple ingredients they make the perfect base for a light meal or snack. I love to top mine with avocado, tuna and greens for a light lunch or when I am craving something sweet I top them with peanut butter and banana, not to mention they are great just on their own.
