Non GMO is the way to go

Texturised soy protein from a non GMO source is definitely the type of TSP you want to be going for. Soy beans are increasingly genetically modified, so I always recommend looking for organic soy products, or ones that specify they're non GMO - like this one.

This versatile plant based protein can be used in a number of different ways and is a good way to boost the protein content of a vegetarian, vegan or plant based meal. It's generally likened to the texture of mince and can be used as an easy vegetarian alternative to this.

As texturised soy protein is more processed than many other sources of plant based protein, I recommend consuming it in moderation and having it as an occasional food, rather than being a regular appearance on your menu.

Gluten free and vegan, this plant-based protein is made from soy and makes a good chicken alternative. Easy to make and made in Australia. 

How to use: This can be used in dishes like pies, san choy bau, lasagne, fried rice etc.
