As we start heading towards winter here in Australia, our minds are going from acai bowls to porridge bowls pretty quickly! And if there ever was a reason to embrace the cooler weather, a warm bowl of oatmeal for breakfast certainly is it!
Ingredients
½ cup rolled oats
1 x 300ml Almo Chamomile Almond Milk
½ small banana, thinly sliced
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ pear, cut into slices lengthways
1 teaspoon coconut oil
1 tablespoon chopped pecan nuts
1 teaspoon coconut butter
Method:
1. Combine the oats, milk, banana and cinnamon in a small saucepan over high heat. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring constantly, for
5-7 minutes or until oats are tender.
2. Meanwhile, heat the coconut oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat.
3. Lay pear slices in the pan. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes each side until just turning
golden brown.
4. Pour the oatmeal into a serving bowl. Top with sautéed pears, pecan nuts and drizzle with coconut butter.
