Rolled oats are something that are a staple in my diet and I recommend them as a nutritious addition for everyone. They're a fantastic breakfast food, can be made into a flour to crumb things and be used in baking, or make a great addition to raw treats. Ultimately, you can't go past a warm bowl of porridge.Oats are a great source of dietary fibre and in particular they contain beta-glucan, an important soluble fibre that can help us feel fuller for longer, support healthy blood sugar levels and benefit our heart health. They're also abundant in important minerals, vitamins and antioxidants, while being higher in protein than many other grains. Organic oats like these from Ceres Organics are better quality and help us reduce our intake of nasty chemicals like glyphosate. If you're coeliac or sensitive to gluten, please switch oats for something like quinoa flakes instead. Loading...
