Lizzie Bland is an ex-professional dancer and the founder of female fitness company Lean Bean Fitness. She runs a hugely popular studio in Bondi Beach, hosts retreats throughout the year with Lean Bean Retreats, and also works on a recently launched online workout programme, Bean Online.
Lizzie's aim is to really help women get fitter, healthier but most importantly happier. Lizzie will often be found in her Bondi Beach studio teaching classes, personal training sessions or working out (when not cafe hopping around Bondi of course!). The best bit? She'll usually be accompanied by her sidekicks Rafferty, her newborn baby boy and toy poodle Artie.
Here is a day of delicious meals with Lizzie...
Breakfast
Avocado on toast or porridge are my go-to's. I'll generally have porridge at home - a sachet of oats with soy milk and then toast around 9/10am at a local cafe after my morning clients. I'm currently breastfeeding so needing to eat more than ever before - that's how I justify my two breakfasts anyway!
Lunch
Now it's coming into summer I'm back on salads, often with roast pumpkin, zucchini, hummus and tuna. When eating out I'll usually get a falafel salad like the one below.
Dinner
My partner Jonathan is the one who does most of the cooking and does a great curry and veggie chilli. If i'm cooking it's usually pretty basic like pasta or salmon with roasted veggies. Olive oil and salt are my kitchen staples. When I'm cooking, most of the time my dishes turn out well as long as I've got ingredients on hand!
Snacks
I snack a lot throughout the day but I try and go for healthy options as much as possible. My daily snacks are generally fruit, greek yoghurt, peanut butter, roasted fava beans (salt & vinegar flavour every time) or a few pieces of dark chocolate. The glove compartment in my car is pretty much a snack box so I always have something for when I'm hangry.
Day to Day Activities...
I'm up at 5 - either with Rafferty or getting some jobs done around the house before he wakes up! I live in Paddington but head to Bondi around 8am to train private clients at Lean Bean. I exercise about 4 times a week - usually attending a Baby Mumma's class at the studio or doing a Bean Online workout in my living room. The rest of the day usually depends on the baby - if he's having a good nap I’ll head to a cafe and get on with work. If there's no chance of peace and quiet, I'll come back home and go for a walk with Artie. Once my partner is home, he'll put Raf to bed and make dinner so I can take a long shower and cover my face, neck and chest in RosehipPLUS Rosehip Oil mixed with a couple of drops of lavender essential oil - instant relaxation. Dinner, Netflix, chocolate and bed by 8:30.
