We looove anything salted caramel at GMB, and luckily for us, this flavour combo can be created with wholefoods. Here are our go-to picks when we’re craving something a little sweet n salty.
Purabon Salted Caramel Protein Ball
Skip the synthetic caramel protein bar from the supermarket/sports nutrition store and go for one of these Purabon balls of goodness instead – packed with 6g of protein from the addition of low-allergenic, organic rice protein.
We love that real food ingredients – like dates, cashews, organic coconut and sea salt - have been used to create the salted caramel flavour and melt-in-your-mouth texture. Perfectly portioned too, and a great snack to keep handy in your bag or desk draw for that mid-arvo slump.

kkao Co. Salted Caramel Cacao Tea Blend
Often dessert-themed teas tend to sound better than they taste – but not the case with this baby from kkao Co. The brainchild of creative cook and health foodie Kara, this decadent-tasting blend has notes of chocolate, coconut and caramel, with a hint of pink salt. The Mexican cacao tea base is organic, too, and we love that there’s actual organic coconut flakes in here.
We like this brewed strong with a dash of milk. Tastes like a never-ending bowl of salted caramel…perfect for kicking a sweet craving, without the sugar.

Clean Salted Caramel Brownie
The perfect recipe for when you’ve got a baking itch, but don’t want to make something unhealthy. This recipe comes straight from the GMB Kitchen, and is loaded with wholefood goodies like coconut flour, cacao, coconut cream and dates. Spoon-licking mandatory ;) Click here for the recipe!
Happy Way Salted Caramel Protein Powder
Add a scoop of this to your shake or smoothie and you’ll feel like you’re drinking dessert! While many whey-based protein powders on the market are loaded with artificial ingredients, Happy Way’s Salted Caramel Protein Powder has a short, sweet and clean ingredients list.
We like that the Whey Protein Concentrate is NZ Pasture Fed, and that it’s supplemented with wholefoods like chia and psyllium to bump up the filling fibre content. Oh and it’s sweetened with sugar free organic stevia leaf, for a salted caramel snack, sans the blood sugar spike and crash.

Medjool Date stuffed with Almond Butter and Sea Salt
Dates really are nature’s caramel. This simple snack combo takes just 30 seconds to make and tastes heavenly; a sprinkle of sea salt or pink salt takes this to the next level, cutting the richness and balancing the sweetness. The fruit and nut combo also provides a nice balanced snack with some carbs, good fats and protein.
If you’re patient, pop this in the freezer for a few hours for a creamier, firmer texture…slower to eat too, so you can enjoy your ‘salted caramel’ snack for longer!
