Wake Up
I’ve been an earlier riser for as long as I can remember. When the sun gets up, I get up, which in summer can be as early as 5:15am. I spend the first 10 minutes of waking up just checking in with myself. This might be a silent meditation, reflecting on my dreams or deciding what kind of vibrations I want the day to have. Then I’ll either head straight to a yoga class, go for a walk and swim down at the beach, or grab a coffee and sit in bed and just enjoy a little quiet time before my day starts. I am lucky enough to live 2 minutes walk from the north end of Bondi Beach, so there really is so many options even at such an ungodly hour.
Breakfast
Breakfast can sometimes be as late as 11am for me. I really don’t eat my first meal until my body tells me it’s hungry. Sometimes that’s early but mostly it’s late morning. I discovered about two years ago that I have an allergy to eggs, which really crippled me when it came to breakfast options when I first found out. These days I turn to smoothies and pack them with as much nutrition as I can find in my well stocked pantry.
An average smoothie will include coconut water, coconut flesh, avocado, kale, lime, spirulina, hemp protein, cardamom, reishi, collagen and ice. The lime is the key flavourful ingredient here. I tend not to use fruit in my smoothies so throwing in half a lime (rind and all) is a great way to mask all of those greens :). I find that because of the adequate amount of protein and fat in my smoothie it’ll keep me full until lunchtime.

Snack
I’m not a huge snacker but sometimes I’ll make a cold pressed juice, if I feel like something before lunch. I’m a huge fun of liquids, it’s a bit of a joke among my friends. But smoothies, juices, soups and hot elixirs really are my jam!
Lunch
Depending on how late I ate breakfast will determine on when I eat lunch, but usually it’s around 2pm. I’m lucky enough to work from home so can pretty much make whatever I feel like. An average lunch will be salad with a myriad of different coloured vegetables, a dollop of hummus, a sprinkling of hemp or pepita seeds, a drizzle of olive oil and apple cider vinegar and a tablespoon of sauerkraut. Sometimes I’ll make a chickpea crepe to go on the side. Added extras might be a drizzle of tahini, some poached chicken or a few lentils.

Afternoon
If I didn’t do a morning yoga class I’ll go to a 4pm session. I love being able to go in the afternoon when it’s not too crowded. I’m also very unproductive when the clock strikes 4pm, so I make sure I start my work day a little early so I can finish up at about 3:30pm most days. At about 3pm I’ll make a hot cacao and medicinal mushroom elixir to get me through the afternoon. It contains hot brewed pau d’arco tea blended with cacao, reishi, shiitake, maitake, he shou wu, cardamom and coconut oil. So delicious.
If I don’t go to yoga I love doing a sunset walk with a friend, usually up in Dover Heights to get an epic sunset view of the entire city of Sydney.

Dinner
I like to eat an early dinner so it’s well digested before bed (which is grandma-like early). Dinner can be anything from a green soup to a grass fed lamb chop with mashed vegetables, a lentil dahl or sometimes if I’m extra lazy another smoothie (I know, don’t tell my mum). I really prefer to have a big lunch and a smaller dinner, but sometimes the day just doesn’t allow it.

Before bed
After dinner I have a herbal tea and if I’m in the mood either some dark chocolate or a Banjo Bear. My nightly ritual is to lie on my Shakti Mat (an acupressure mat) for about half an hour before going to sleep. It honestly gives me the most restful night’s sleep, I don’t know what I was doing before it.
I try and make sure I’m asleep by 10pm most nights and will always spend the last few minutes before floating off reflecting on my day. I really believe the first few moments when you wake up and the last few minutes before you fall asleep are the most magical times to manifest your future. Unfortunately most of us spend them on our phones. So I always make sure that my phone goes straight onto flight mode the minute I hop into my bed.
