This week's My Day On A Plate comes from Bianca Slade the genius behind @wholefoodsimply. Bianca is quite simply a mum, a recipe creator and a rambler. She enjoys bringing joy to those who may be on restricted diets, short on time or who just enjoy delicious meals done quickly. Want to know what a day on Bianca's plate looks like? Keep reading for a sneak peek!
There is no such thing as a typical day for me right now. I am experiencing third trimester morning (all day/night sickness) and my diet is, well, erratic.
The list of foods I am enjoying is sadly drastically reduced. However, here is a glimpse at my not-quite-standard Day on a Plate.
Breakfast
Everything I am eating is simple, that is high priority right now. This quick and easy Banana Bread Ice Cream is thankfully still on my thoroughly enjoying list.
Lunch
I am trying very hard to still get a good amount of veggies into myself and baby. I am finding raw veggies much easier to tolerate and I am loving nut butter. So I have a simple lunch of boiled eggs, salad and nut butter.
Snacks
I am needing to eat frequently, if any more than three hours pass without the little one inside me being fed then the sickness goes to a whole new level - an experience best avoided at all costs. To get me through, I often find myself enjoying a Blueberry Smoothie.
Recipe:
- 1 frozen banana, chopped
- 150 grams blueberries
- 1 Lebanese cucumber
- 2 stalks of celery
- Flesh of half a lemon
- 1 and 1/2 cups water
Blend. Drink.
This makes two serves.
Dinner
Once again this is quick, easy and enjoyed by the whole family. Fish and Chips - with baked sweet potatoes and avocados which are both working well for me right now. Although strangely, not the common orange variety…
Dessert and more snacks
And always a bliss ball or a piece of fudge. ALWAYS! Simple and delicious treats are keeping me very happy at the moment.
